My aim in ministry is to see God raise up the next generation to worship a big God with humble confidence. I believe that when we see God for who He truly is in the gospel, we can walk in this humble confidence before God and others. I am excited to see God move as we chase this vision for middle and high school students in Denton.
My heart for ministry came shortly after I became a believer in the gospel. The truth of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection shook my world around age 17, so I know how critical teenage years are for spiritual growth. As I faced crucial decisions about my future, I became more convinced that God was calling me to vocational ministry. I had the opportunity to help plant a church in Norman, OK as I completed my Bachelor’s degree at the University of Oklahoma. After graduation, I worked at a juvenile detention center for two years before heading to Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO to complete my Master of Divinity.
My wife Kara and I got married in 2016 and have loved serving in student ministry together for the past three years. We both have a heart for middle and high schoolers and love to see the Holy Spirit call students to Christ and grow them into faithful disciples. Our focus has been on teaching students to read the Bible and grow in boldness to share the gospel with their peers.
