As I look back on my life, it is so easy to see the providence of the Lord through each season. I grew up going to church, but had no real understanding of the Gospel. Years later at an FCA summer camp on June 17, 1999, the Lord confirmed His salvific call on my life and I committed my life to follow Him. He has been kind to graciously reveal more and more of Himself in the years since.
Early on in my walk with the Lord, He gave me a particular burden for the local church. My desire is to lead men and women closer to Him and equipping them for the work of ministry. I am passionate about the faithful teaching of the Scriptures, the affectionate worship of the Lord, the genuine community of the church, and the overflowing proclamation of the Gospel.
I have served in different capacities over the years as a worship leader, children’s ministry teacher and worship leader, youth teacher, and other volunteer roles. In August 2013, I completed a year-long internship at The Village Church. The Lord used this season to further train and equip me and to confirm His call on my life to vocational ministry. I graduated from Dallas Baptist University in 2005 with a degree in Biblical Studies. I began my graduate studies at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in the Summer of 2013.
My hope for us at Redeemer Church is to be a people who give our life to the service of Jesus the King and the proclamation of the Good News of the Kingdom throughout Denton and wherever else the Lord may send us. My prayer is that He would display His great worth in unworthy, broken people and that He would empower us to love our community in word and deed.
The Lord has blessed me with an amazing wife named Mallery. We met in 2008 in the children’s ministry at our church and were married in May 2010. She is a gift to me and I could not ask for a better helpmate. The Lord added to our family with three children—Caleb, Norah Mei, and George. We are so grateful for our little family.
