BAPTISM TESTIMONY | MELANIE CLARK

Baptism is a symbol of the new life believers have in Christ. This is Melanie Clark’s public profession of faith in Jesus from his baptism on Sunday, November 30, 2025.

First of all, My God is so able, big, real, still the same, bigger, stronger, and an all-around awesome God. No one nor anything compares to Him! My grandmother and mother were the women who introduced my sister and I to the Bible and Jesus. I was first saved and baptized because of VBS in 1978 at Sandyland Baptist Church Growing up we had an abusive earthly father. It was difficult for us living with domestic violence. We didn’t feel safe at home.
May of 1989 I married my soul mate Scott. The next 15 years was a roller-coaster of ups, down, twists, and turns. My life was full of mental heal issues as well as deep depression and eating disorders. God was always there. He stayed right beside me through my imperfections, unfaithfulness, disobedience, and denial.
December 2004 was my rock bottom month. A year later, the doctor prescribed me 21 pills per day. My sister came to our home and prayed and read the Bible. God showed me Jeremiah 29:11. I was an emotional eater. I ate mad, sad, and glad.
Then in October 2012 God showed me another scripture, Matthew 6:33. He guided me through losing 250 lbs. First Place for Health is what I call WW centered on Christ. In June 2013 God sent me to The Branch Church with a Celebrate Recovery program. I was ministered to by Isaiah 1:18 . He gave me a new perspective of His way IS ALWAYS better than my way of thinking.
In 2025, the Lord had brought me to a newly developed intimate relationship like I’ve never had before. This year’s verse is Matthew 22:37-39 where Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart soul mind strength. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is Love your neighbor as yourself.”
The Lord has been gracious and has delivered me from an abusive home and father. God gave me exactly the kind of man I needed. He showed me how a husband should be to his wife. He also showed me how a father should be to his children and forgiveness was a must. The Lord delivered me from Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder. PRAISE THE LORD! HE DESERVES ALL THE HONOR AND GLORY!
So why am I being baptized at age 55? Because His grace and mercies new every day. AND HE WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. I AM REDEDICATING PUBLICLY TO TELL THE WORLD HE IS LORD OF MY LIFE. I am upright and will not be swished in the water this time. The plan is to be totally immersed and come up out of darkness and into light so as to die to sin and be alive in Christ. Thank you all much for being a witness. Please hold me accountable and to speak truth when I need the love of Christ poured into me as a new member of Redeemer Church.
